Md. Mehedi Hassan Emon joined Volunteer for Bangladesh in 2015 as a General Volunteer. He became a Committee Member in 2017 and was elected District President of Jhenaidah in 2018. He later served as Organizing Secretary, General Secretary, and President of the Khulna Division Board from 2019 to 2022. At the national level, he served as General Secretary (2023–2024) and Vice President – M&E (2024–2025). Now, as President of the VBD National Board (2025–2026), he brings expertise in human development, ethical leadership, and social entrepreneurship. Mehedi envisions transforming VBD into Bangladesh’s most skilled, impactful, and youth-led volunteer organization.
Md. Kaosar Hossain joined Volunteer for Bangladesh in April 2017 as a General Volunteer in Chattogram. Overcoming early challenges, he became Committee Member, then Public Relations Officer (2018), General Secretary (2019), and District President (2020). He later served as Division Vice President – M&E (2021–2022), Division President (2022–2023), National Treasurer (2024–2025), and now Vice President – M&E of the VBD National Board (2025–2026). Kaosar has led 85+ impactful projects, earning VBD Chattogram the Best District Award in 2020. Passionate about youth empowerment, he focuses on life skills and civic engagement to build a generation of active changemakers.
Sumaya Safat joined Volunteer for Bangladesh in 2017 and has steadily taken on key leadership roles. Starting as a Committee Member, she became District Project Officer in 2020 and was later elected District President of Khulna in 2021, leading impactful civic and environmental initiatives. She served as Divisional Organizing Secretary (2022–2023), Alumni Association Board Member (2023–2024), and Executive Member of the National Board (2024–2025). Currently, working as the General Secretary of the VBD National Board, Sumaya is deeply committed to youth empowerment, leadership development, and sustainable community growth, contributing meaningfully to VBD’s long-term mission.
Md. Rakib Ul Islam began his journey with Volunteer for Bangladesh in June 2014, initiating a tree plantation and cycle rally that sparked the formation of Dinajpur’s first District Board. He served as Human Resources Officer (2014), General Secretary (2015), and President (2016). Focused on leadership, hygiene, and sanitation, Rakib later became Organizing Secretary (2022–2023) and President (2023–2024) of the Rangpur Division Board. As a National Board Executive Member (2024–2025), he contributed to the development of youth and policy making. Currently serving as Treasurer (2025–2026), Rakib is dedicated to accountability and nurturing young leaders for a more empowered Bangladesh.
Maisha Islam joined Volunteer for Bangladesh in December 2018 as a General Volunteer in Chattogram, driven by her passion for social change. She held several leadership roles, including Institute Representative, Committee Member, and Public Relations Officer in 2021, and served as Vice President – M&E of the District Board in 2022. From 2023 to 2024, she continued her role as Vice President – M&E in the Divisional Board, strengthening accountability and impact tracking. After a brief alumni period, she rejoined in July 2025 as a National Executive Board Member. Passionate about women’s empowerment and climate action, Maisha champions youth-led, data-driven solutions. She envisions a volunteer movement that fosters inclusive leadership and delivers measurable, community-centered impact nationwide.
Md. Shamim Miah joined Volunteer for Bangladesh in 2014 through UCD and rose through the ranks; General Member (2015), Committee Member (2016), and General Secretary of the Moulvibazar District Board (2017–2019). He was elected District President in 2020 and 2021. Expanding his leadership, he served as Vice President (2022–2023) and later President (2023–2024) of the Sylhet Division Board. With over a decade of experience, Shamim has developed strong leadership skills and a deep commitment to youth and community development. He currently serves as an Executive Member of the VBD National Board, working to empower youth across Bangladesh.
Md. Al-Amin began his journey with Volunteer for Bangladesh in 2019 as a General Volunteer in Pabna. With no formal committee then, he helped build a strong volunteer base, becoming a Core Volunteer in 2020. His efforts led to his appointment as General Secretary of VBD Pabna’s first official district committee. In 2022, he was elected District President and later served as Organizing Secretary (2023) and General Secretary (2024) of the Rajshahi Division Board. Now an Executive Member of the National Board, Al-Amin remains committed to empowering volunteers and expanding community impact nationwide.
Anika Jarin Shifa joined Volunteer for Bangladesh in 2017, driven by a passion for youth empowerment and community service. She served as a Committee Member (2018–19) and became President of VBD Barishal District in 2020, earning the HERO Award from Aarvi Foundation for her impactful leadership. In 2022, she served as Fundraising Secretary of the Barishal Division Board and was later appointed Divisional Convenor in 2024. Currently, as an Executive Member of the National Board, Anika is dedicated to youth leadership, soft skills development, women empowerment, and sustainable community growth, continuing to inspire change through volunteerism.
Sayem Arafat joined Volunteer for Bangladesh in 2020 and quickly rose through the ranks, serving as Institute Representative, Committee Member (2021), Vice President (M&E) in 2022, and President of the Dhaka District Board in 2023. Additionally, he served as the General Secretary of the Dhaka Division Board (2024–2025). A JAAGO Foundation YDP intern and BYAT Dhaka Division Coordinator, Sayem has led 15+ youth workshops, training over 650 young people. In 2024, he received the EMK Small Grant for his civic project “Voice of Tomorrow.” Currently, serving as an Executive Member of the VBD National Board, Sayem is committed to empowering youth for sustainable rural development.
