Sumaya Safat began her journey with Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) in 2017 and has steadily grown through a series of leadership roles, reflecting her dedication to youth development and volunteerism. Starting as a Committee Member, she went on to serve as District Project Officer, District President of Khulna, Divisional Organizing Secretary, Alumni Association Board Member, Executive Member, and General Secretary of the VBD National Board.
Currently serving as the President of Volunteer for Bangladesh, Sumaya leads the organization with a vision of empowering young people to become active citizens and changemakers. Passionate about civic engagement, leadership development, and sustainable community impact, she remains committed to strengthening VBD's nationwide network and advancing its mission of building a more responsible and empowered Bangladesh.
Maisha Islam embarked on her journey with Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) in 2018, demonstrating a strong commitment to youth leadership, organizational excellence, and community development. Beginning as a General Volunteer in Chattogram, she steadily advanced through a range of leadership positions, serving as Public Relations Officer, Vice President – Monitoring & Evaluation for both the Chattogram District and Divisional Boards, and later as an Executive Member of the VBD National Board.
As the current Vice President – Monitoring & Evaluation of the VBD National Board, Maisha plays a key role in enhancing organizational accountability, strengthening monitoring frameworks, and fostering evidence-based decision-making across the network. Driven by her passion for youth empowerment, women's leadership, and climate resilience, she remains dedicated to building stronger systems and creating meaningful, long-term impact through volunteerism.
Sayem Arafat began his journey with Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) in 2020 and has steadily advanced through a series of leadership roles, reflecting his dedication to youth development and volunteerism. Starting as an Institute Representative, he went on to serve as a Committee Member, Vice President – Monitoring & Evaluation of the Dhaka District Board, President of the Dhaka District Board, General Secretary of the Dhaka Divisional Board, Executive Member of the VBD National Board, and currently as the General Secretary of the VBD National Board.
As the General Secretary of the VBD National Board, Sayem plays a pivotal role in strengthening organizational coordination, supporting effective governance, and fostering collaboration across VBD's nationwide network. Dedicated to advancing Volunteer for Bangladesh's mission, he continues to empower young people, strengthen volunteer engagement, and contribute to building a more active, responsible, and resilient generation of changemakers through leadership and volunteerism.
Anika Jarin Shifa began her journey with Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) in 2017 and has steadily grown through a series of leadership roles, reflecting her dedication to youth development, volunteerism, and organizational growth. Starting as a General Volunteer, she went on to serve as a Committee Member, President of the Barishal District Board, Fundraising Secretary of the Barishal Divisional Board, Divisional Convenor of the VBD Alumni Association, and currently as the Treasurer of the VBD National Board.
As the Treasurer of the VBD National Board, Anika plays a vital role in strengthening the organization's financial management, ensuring transparency, and supporting the sustainable growth of Volunteer for Bangladesh. Through her leadership, she remains committed to advancing VBD's mission by empowering young people, strengthening volunteer-led initiatives, and fostering responsible leadership across the nationwide network. Her dedication to volunteerism and community service has also been recognized with the HERO Award from the Aarvi Foundation.
Mohammed Ali Newaz began his journey with Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) in 2017 and has steadily advanced through a series of leadership roles, reflecting his dedication to youth development, volunteerism, and organizational growth. Throughout his journey, he has served in leadership positions at the district, divisional, and national levels, contributing to the strengthening of VBD's volunteer network and organizational capacity. Currently, he serves as an Executive Member of the VBD National Board.
As an Executive Member of the VBD National Board, Mohammed contributes to enhancing organizational effectiveness, supporting volunteer engagement, and advancing youth leadership initiatives across the country. Committed to Volunteer for Bangladesh's mission, he continues to strengthen the organization's impact by promoting active citizenship, empowering young volunteers, and fostering sustainable community development through collaborative leadership.
Adhan Afridi began his journey with Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) in 2021 through the Sylhet District and has steadily advanced through a series of leadership roles, reflecting his dedication to youth development, volunteerism, and community engagement. Starting as a General Volunteer, he went on to serve as Project Officer of the Sylhet District Board, President of the Sylhet District Board for two consecutive terms, President of the Sylhet Divisional Board, and currently as an Executive Member of the VBD National Board.
As an Executive Member of the VBD National Board, Adhan contributes to strengthening volunteer engagement, organizational collaboration, and leadership development across VBD's nationwide network. Through his continued commitment to Volunteer for Bangladesh's mission, he remains dedicated to empowering young people, fostering active citizenship, and supporting sustainable community development through volunteerism.
Tanvir Ahamed began his journey with Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) and has consistently demonstrated his dedication to youth leadership, volunteerism, and organizational development through a series of progressive leadership roles. Starting as a Project Officer, he went on to serve as President of the Mymensingh District Board, General Secretary of the Mymensingh Divisional Board, Vice President – Monitoring & Evaluation of the Mymensingh Divisional Board, and currently as an Executive Member of the VBD National Board.
In his current role as an Executive Member of the VBD National Board, Tanvir contributes to strengthening volunteer engagement, leadership development, and organizational capacity across VBD's nationwide network. Committed to advancing Volunteer for Bangladesh's mission, he continues to empower young people, foster active citizenship, and create sustainable opportunities for volunteers to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
Md. Sanzid Ahammed Shojib began his journey with Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) in 2019 through the Jhenaidah District and has steadily advanced through a series of leadership roles, reflecting his dedication to youth development, volunteerism, and organizational growth. Starting as a General Volunteer, he went on to serve as Treasurer of the Jhenaidah District Board, Organizing Secretary of the Khulna Divisional Board, President of the Khulna Divisional Board, and currently as an Executive Member of the VBD National Board.
