Wellbeing Week: Spreading Smiles

There are days that leave footprints in our hearts, and for Volunteer for Bangladesh – Dhaka District North, this was one of them. In collaboration with DHL, we had the privilege of visiting an orphan home shelter, home to 35 bright, beautiful children who welcomed us with the purest of smiles.

The day began with laughter that echoed through the rooms. Our volunteers and the children engaged in playful games that broke all barriers, filling the space with energy and joy. Storytelling sessions soon followed, where little eyes lit up with curiosity, imagination, and wonder. But beyond the fun and activities, the most meaningful moments were found in the quiet conversations, where listening, understanding, and simply being present created bonds deeper than words.

This wasn’t just a visit. It was a reminder that kindness doesn’t have to be grand to be impactful. A simple gesture, a shared laugh, or a listening ear can create ripples of happiness and hope. Our volunteers walked away with hearts fuller than when they arrived, carrying the smiles of these children as a constant source of inspiration.

Wellbeing Week: Spreading Smiles was more than just an event, it was a celebration of love, compassion, and the power of togetherness. Through this initiative, we were reminded that when we give our time and love, we don’t just change someone’s day, we might just change their world.

Because every smile we shared was more than joy, it was hope!
