The workshop was held under the theme: “মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য সবার অধিকার” (Mental Health is a Universal Human Right). Its primary aim was to highlight the importance of mental well-being among the youth and to break societal misconceptions and stigmas surrounding mental health. By creating a safe, educational, and interactive space, the workshop encouraged participants to openly discuss mental health challenges and explore practical ways to maintain psychological wellness.
The session was led by Jarin Mustari, an Intern Psychologist at Serenity PSS Center and Chattogram University Medical Center. With professional expertise and hands-on knowledge, she guided participants through discussions, therapeutic activities, and mindfulness exercises.
A total of 50 young volunteers from various backgrounds attended the workshop. Activities included:
Interactive discussions on mental health awareness
Therapeutic exercises to manage stress and anxiety
Mindfulness and relaxation practices for emotional well-being
Q&A sessions to address personal mental health concerns
Through these activities, the participants were able to gain practical skills and knowledge on maintaining mental wellness in daily life and supporting peers facing mental health challenges.
“Serenity Steps” successfully created an engaging environment for youth to understand that mental health is as crucial as physical health. By addressing social stigma and providing accessible knowledge, the workshop strengthened the participants’ ability to care for their own mental well-being and promote mental health awareness within their communities.
