From 11–13 April 2026, VBD Gazipur organized a three-day awareness campaign titled “Safe Childhood: Measles Awareness Campaign” at Sunrise Ideal Kindergarten School in Kaliganj Upazila and Gazipur Shaheen Cadet School (Bagher Bazar Branch) in Sreepur Upazila. The campaign aimed to raise awareness among students and parents about measles and the importance of maintaining children’s health and well-being. A total of 10 volunteers were involved, reaching approximately 300 participants directly and more than 500 people overall.

The campaign emphasized that healthy children are the foundation of a healthy future and that proper nutrition alone is not enough to ensure a child’s well-being. Students and parents were engaged through awareness activities focused on measles, its importance as a public health concern, and the need for greater knowledge and preventive awareness. Parents’ participation was also considered an important indicator of the campaign’s reach and effectiveness.

Aligned with the Good Health and Well-Being Sustainable Development Goal, the initiative helped strengthen awareness about measles among children and their families. By bringing health-related information directly to schools and engaging parents alongside students, the campaign encouraged greater attention to childhood health and preventive care, contributing to the broader goal of building healthier and safer communities.
