From 1–6 March 2026, VBD Rajbari District implemented a six-day humanitarian project titled “Rizik-e-Ramadan” across five upazilas of Rajbari District—Rajbari Sadar, Baliakandi, Goalanda, Kalukhali, and Pangsha. The initiative aimed to support marginalized and low-income families during the holy month of Ramadan by providing essential iftar food packages. With the support of VBD members, volunteers, donors, well-wishers, and local community members, approximately 100 vulnerable families were identified, while 30 volunteers actively contributed to the project.
The project involved identifying beneficiary families, collecting funds and food items, purchasing essential products, preparing customized iftar packages, and distributing them directly to selected households. Each package included essential Ramadan food items such as dates, chickpeas, puffed rice, gram flour, cooking oil, sugar, and other necessities. Volunteers played a key role throughout the process, from beneficiary selection and package preparation to distribution and documentation. The activities were documented through photographs, videos, and reports, while feedback from beneficiaries and volunteers was collected to assess the social impact of the initiative.
Aligned with the Zero Hunger Sustainable Development Goal, “Rizik-e-Ramadan” provided families with essential food supplies for several days, helping reduce their food expenses and financial pressure during Ramadan. The support allowed beneficiary families to allocate their limited income toward other urgent needs while enjoying greater peace of mind during iftar. Beyond material assistance, the initiative strengthened feelings of compassion, dignity, inclusion, and community solidarity, reflecting the spirit of generosity and humanity that defines the holy month of Ramadan.
