World Cleanup Day 2025 witnessed an inspiring environmental initiative led by Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) Chattogram District. Under the banner “Project Green Sweep”, the organization aimed to promote environmental awareness, encourage eco-friendly practices, and engage youth in social responsibility to build a sustainable future.
The initiative took place at Panchlaish Model Police Station and saw the active participation of 30 dedicated volunteers. The program was organized in two key phases:
Phase 1: Cleaning the police station premises thoroughly, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
Phase 2: Developing a garden and enhancing the area’s aesthetic appeal, further promoting greenery and environmental stewardship.
Through Project Green Sweep, VBD Chattogram District emphasized the importance of youth involvement in environmental protection. By actively participating in such initiatives, young volunteers learn the value of:
Social responsibility and community service
Environmental conservation and sustainable practices
Collective action to drive positive change
This initiative not only addresses immediate cleanliness and beautification needs but also fosters a culture of environmental awareness and civic engagement among the next generation.
Project Green Sweep is part of VBD’s ongoing commitment to creating a cleaner and greener society. By involving youth in meaningful activities, the organization highlights how local actions contribute to broader global goals, including:
Sustainable development
Community well-being
Environmental conservation
Through these efforts, VBD Chattogram District continues to inspire and mobilize volunteers to take active roles in shaping a sustainable and socially responsible society.
Volunteer for Bangladesh encourages young people across Chattogram and beyond to join future initiatives and contribute to building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. Together, small actions create significant impact.
