Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) Chattogram District organized the IR Orientation and Workforce Program (August–December Cohort) on 13 August 2025 at Hotel Tower Inn, Chattogram, with the vision of cultivating a new generation of youth leaders who will drive positive social change.
This flagship program was designed to strengthen youth leadership capacity, promote community engagement, and prepare the groundwork for VBD’s future leadership pipeline. It brought together both newly appointed and outgoing Institute Representatives (IRs), creating a bridge between experience and fresh perspectives.
One of the highlights of the event was the formal handover of appointment letters to the newly selected IRs, symbolizing trust and responsibility in carrying forward the legacy of volunteerism. At the same time, certificates of recognition were awarded to representatives of the previous cohort for their contributions, ensuring their efforts remain part of the organizational memory. To further inspire excellence, four distinguished IRs received special awards for their outstanding dedication and impact within their communities.
Beyond recognition, the program served as a transformative learning and networking space. Participants engaged in sessions that included:
A documentary presentation celebrating VBD’s remarkable 14-year journey of volunteerism, highlighting milestones achieved across Bangladesh.
Inspirational addresses from senior leaders and mentors, motivating participants to embrace leadership with integrity and empathy.
Cultural performances that showcased the energy and creativity of youth while reinforcing unity in diversity.
Interactive networking sessions where IRs exchanged ideas, experiences, and visions for future initiatives.
By the end of the day, participants not only left with official designations and certificates but also with a renewed sense of purpose. The orientation emphasized that VBD is not merely a platform for volunteering, it is a leadership incubator where young people learn to translate passion into action, and action into sustainable community impact.
The closing session called upon all representatives to play an active role in shaping the future of volunteerism in their institutes and communities, ensuring that the spirit of service continues to grow stronger.
This program stands as a testament to VBD’s commitment to empowering youth, fostering social responsibility, and building tomorrow’s leaders today.
