Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD), Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila, in collaboration with Mentors, successfully organized Debate Competition 2026, creating a meaningful platform for young people to express their ideas, exchange perspectives, and develop confidence and critical thinking skills.
The debate focused on the topic: “Studying abroad provides greater benefits to Bangladesh’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) than the challenges it creates.” The topic encouraged participants to explore the opportunities and challenges associated with studying abroad while considering its broader implications for Bangladesh’s sustainable development.
With the active support of 12 dedicated volunteers, the competition brought together 30 participants. Their engagement contributed to a lively and thoughtful environment where participants could present arguments, listen to diverse opinions, and engage in respectful discussion.
The competition also emphasized the importance of public speaking, analytical thinking, teamwork, and constructive dialogue. Through the exchange of ideas, participants had the opportunity to strengthen their communication skills and build greater confidence in expressing their views on important social and development-related issues.
A special moment of appreciation came when Mentors honored VBD Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila in recognition of the team’s dedication, efforts, and contribution to youth development. This recognition serves as an encouragement for the team to continue creating meaningful opportunities for young people and strengthening youth engagement at the community level.
Initiatives like this contribute to the development of thoughtful, confident, and responsible future leaders by encouraging young people to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage with important issues.
Together, we debate, learn, inspire, and grow.
