Capacity Building Training: Project Design & Execution

On 29 August 2025, VBD Dhaka District South successfully hosted the Capacity Building Training: Project Design & Execution, a dynamic session aimed at equipping young volunteers with the practical skills and insights needed to design and execute impactful projects in their communities. This training marked another milestone in VBD’s commitment to youth empowerment, fostering leadership, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving among its members.

The session began with an enlightening talk by Ashim Ayed, Sr. Officer, Fundraising & Grants Management at JAAGO Foundation, who shared his expertise on project proposal development, writing, planning, and monitoring. Ashim’s approach was highly practical: he translated complex concepts into actionable lessons, illustrating how volunteers can effectively plan and manage projects to achieve tangible outcomes. From defining project objectives to structuring proposals, his insights helped participants understand not just the theory but also the real-world application of project management skills. His session highlighted the importance of strategic planning and monitoring to ensure that every initiative has measurable impact.

Adding further inspiration to the training, Minhagul Islam, President of VBD Dhaka District South, addressed participants on the value of leadership, ownership, and volunteerism. Minhagul emphasized the role of initiative, collaboration, and accountability in driving successful projects. His words resonated deeply with attendees, encouraging them to take proactive steps in their communities and make a meaningful difference. The combination of practical skills and motivational guidance created a well-rounded learning experience that appealed to both the mind and the heart.

Beyond the lectures, the training was designed to be highly interactive. Participants engaged in group activities, where they collaborated to design mock projects, brainstorm creative solutions, and present their ideas to peers. These exercises not only strengthened teamwork but also honed critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Lively discussions allowed volunteers to challenge assumptions, explore new approaches, and gain feedback in a supportive environment. The hands-on component of the session ensured that participants could immediately apply the concepts they learned, making the training both practical and memorable.

The day concluded with a sense of accomplishment and renewed energy among the volunteers. Attendees expressed that they felt better prepared to conceptualize, plan, and execute projects with clarity and confidence. The training reaffirmed VBD Dhaka South’s mission to nurture capable and motivated young leaders who can contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Initiatives like the Capacity Building Training: Project Design & Execution are vital in fostering a culture of empowered youth. By equipping volunteers with knowledge, skills, and inspiration, VBD not only strengthens individual capabilities but also promotes collective impact. Participants left with practical tools, fresh perspectives, and a deeper commitment to making a positive difference through volunteerism.

Through such initiatives, VBD continues to cultivate a generation of skilled, confident, and socially responsible youth ready to create meaningful change.
