On 8 September 2026, VBD Ghatail Upazila, Tangail District organized a one-day session titled “Beyond the Books” at Success Academy. The session brought together 75 students, with the aim of helping young participants move beyond traditional academic learning and develop practical leadership, communication, and digital skills. Through interactive ice-breaking activities and collaborative problem-solving, participants were encouraged to overcome hesitation, engage confidently, and create an energetic learning environment.

The session focused on soft skills, digital literacy, practical leadership, and real-world experiences. Participants learned how to use digital tools for remote team communication, conduct online committee meetings, and build a positive personal brand. Practical discussions explored grassroots leadership, team motivation, committee management, and taking initiative in community activities. Real-life experiences were also shared, including organizing community meetings, balancing academic responsibilities with entrepreneurship, and managing nonprofit leadership commitments. An open Q&A session provided participants with personalized guidance and opportunities to connect for continued mentorship.

Aligned with the SDG 4 Quality Education Sustainable Development Goal, “Beyond the Books” provided students with practical knowledge and experiences that complemented their academic education. Participants gained greater confidence in public speaking and collaborative work, developed a clearer understanding of leadership in real-world settings, and learned how to connect their extracurricular experiences with future opportunities such as fellowships and community initiatives. The session also created a foundation for continued mentorship and youth engagement, extending its impact beyond the classroom.
