National Youth Assembly

National Youth Assembly 2017 is part of JAAGO Foundations endeavor to build Leadership Skills and Capacity among the volunteers of its nation-wide volunteer organization – Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD).
This inclusive and engaging program will enlighten the delegates with issues like Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to community engagement. It will further strengthen personal development of the delegates thus inspire and motivate them to be Active Citizens in their respective areas.

Universal Children’s Day:

Since 2009 Volunteer for Bangladesh has been observing Universal Children’s Day in Bangladesh. Thousands of volunteers on this day pour out into the streets of different districts of Bangladesh and raise awareness about child rights more specifically focusing on Education that is Sustainable Development Goal 4. On the other hand, the street children who spend their every other day selling flower in the streets are taken to an amusement park to have a day of childhood. The street kids spend their day enjoying amusement rides, going through medical checkup, participating in cultural program.

Great Water Challenge:

Observing World Water Day is one of the many United Nations campaigns VBD observes. Every year on the 22nd march volunteers from different districts organize awareness and door to door activation program, conduct workshops including community and schools, clean lakeside, river and pond; all these activities are done to raise awareness for the importance of water that is Sustainable Development Goal 6.

World Environment Day:

Every year on the 5th of June, to promote global awareness of our planet and the importance of taking positive environmental action Volunteer for Bangladesh organizes campaigns throughout the country. Volunteers rallies for local climate change awareness by pedaling their way around Bangladesh. Furthermore, volunteers add a touch of green to the landscape and plant saplings in respective districts with the theme “go green”.

Youth and Sports

Every year on the 5th of June, to promote global awareness of our planet and the importance of taking positive environmental action Volunteer for Bangladesh organizes campaigns throughout the country.

Blanket Drive:

Bangladesh is a tropical country however winter comes in rural areas comes as threat to survival for the underprivileged people. In most of the rural parts people suffers from lack of proper support against winter. To combat the situation volunteers of Volunteer for Bangladesh organizes Blanket Drive every year. Hundreds of Volunteers travel throughout the country and distribute blanket among the disadvantaged people.

Youth Perception Survey:

Apart from conducting campaigns Volunteer of Volunteer for Bangladesh were involved in conduct surveys. Youth Perception Survey supported by U.S Department of State, was a nationwide survey on youth aimed to understand their perception on democracy, good governance and political culture in Bangladesh. The survey targeted 1400 youth throughout the country and covered a broad range of geographical area. Besides survey, the project has also undertaken a number of Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) on them to gain an in depth understanding on their ideas and vision about national development.

Bangladesh Youth Network (BYN) :

With the collaboration with UNDP youth program of JAAGO Foundation has created a platform of organizations working for youth priorities throughout Bangladesh.
This collaboration produced three key outputs:
• A nationwide database of youth organisations;
• A Network of national and local actors for youth engagement named ‘Bangladesh Youth Network’ (BYN);
• A set of research and actions to identify youth priorities and needs.
Around 700 registered youth organizations all over the country are now connected for knowledge and idea sharing.
