Civic Education & Engagement for Development
Bangladesh has witnessed a decreasing rate of participation in the civic life in regards to voting, advocacy, local level grassroots associations, and in other forms of civic engagement that are necessary for the vitality of a democracy. It has also been observed that undergraduate students are indifferent towards politics and civic education even though civic education and engagement are essential to democracy.
To improve understanding about Civic Education, Civic Skills, Good Governance and Civic Dispositions, JAAGO Foundation is organizing day long workshops across the country under a project named Social Harmony for Development.
The direct beneficiaries of the project are the university students. The workshops will build the capacity of 150 participants through 5 workshops in 5 districts. With the new understanding, they can work constructively for the development of the country. Besides these, there will be public awareness raising events in various events and institutions within this year.
Duration of the project: January 2020 to April 2020.
Note: Snacks, Lunch and T-Shirt, Knowledge Materials will be provided and the workshop is free of cost.
